The weekend of me!

This weekend has been such a selfish one- it was all about ME!!

I booked in to do a jewellery making course when I got home from Melbourne. I was inspired by Victoria Mason & so disappointed that I wouldn't be able to flit back and forth to Melbourne to do her jewellery workshops. She spoke with such passion about what she creates (you can get a feel for it here on her blog) and I wanted to be able to create something with my hands & heart too.
I found Square Pegs Studio & a fabulous 1 day workshop. At least if it really wasn't my thing I didn't have to keep going back. I really loved it and I do want to go back every week. Eric was so impressed with my finished product that he wants a go too. Wouldn't it be fun to do it together!!!

I pressed a leaf pattern into the surface of the silver. Mine was very simple compared to some others- but I love the simplicity.

Then today I headed into Mosman to soak up the glorious sunshine and to explore the Confetti Fair. So today it was just all about party prettiness and I loved everything I saw!
All of those lucky ducks who get to plan parties as their JOB!!! How is that even possible?

It was a lovely weekend to myself, but I'm not in a hurry to have another....I missed my boys.
I guess its very true that absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I'm off to have a cuddle on the lounge :)

Big Hearted Business

So this is the blog entry about The Big Hearted Business Conference. It has taken me a week to process it all and work out what it all meant. It was amazing, probably life changing, and it was perfectly timed. I started some extended leave from work on the day we flew out to Melbourne. I needed something to ground me, focus me and to take the edge of my intense and unrelenting stress levels. The meditations sessions during the conference were just what I needed to start breathing again. My shoulders have dropped several centimetres this week and my chiropractor noticed a difference in the tension in my shoulders. Oh it feels so good to breathe again- I was worried I had forgotten how.
There were so many fabulous presenters with so many gems to share about the work/ motherhood balance. I loved the focus on that negative voice we all have in our heads telling us not to dare to dream, I most certainly have been sending that wicked voice to the corner this week and it feels good.
Singing with Clare Bowditch was an emotional experience for me- especially in the convent chapel- it was hard work to focus on the singing and not let the tears stream down my face.
I will continue to reflect for a bit longer before I articulate exactly which dreams I shall dare to chase. I am pondering my options and letting great ideas grow roots. My heart is full, as are my lungs- hurray!!

Oh just have a look at my gorgeous Victoria Mason rings xxx

Melbourne

What indulgence! My bestie and I went to Melbourne for the weekend- just us! My beautiful friend organised the whole trip including tickets to The Big Hearted Business Conference- oh my!!
It was fabulous in every way.

I promised the boys that I would visit their favourite shop to pick out a little pressie :)

How beautiful is this building?

I found Victoria Mason! I searched for her shop on our last trip and couldn't find it :( This time I tripped right over it :) I was beside myself. She was so lovely and was also attending the conference. My dilemma was trying to pick out one favourite thing- that decision was so taxing. Exploring Fitzroy was the perfect way to finish off our day of awesomeness.

After a very early flight and a full day of shopping we needed a lovely cup of tea to see us through to dinner on Lygon Street.

Thank you to my very special friend for our amazing weekend xxxxx
